Jonathan Hoover grew up surfing, sailing, and diving in Oceanside, California. He is blessed to have turned his passions into a career as a Harbor Patrolman in the town that raised him. Teaching is in his genes as he comes from a family of dedicated educators. Jonathan has been developing curriculum around vessel operations and rescue/recovery for the past 8 years and has taught locally as well as for the California Department of Boating and Waterways, Rescue Water Craft program.
His efforts are primarily focused on training Public Safety personnel but he also works with the boating public and the sailboat racing communities.
In 2010, Jonathan began working directly with K38 Founder, Shawn Alladio. He was given the opportunity to start training and teaching with K38 Rescue and to collaborate on other water safety projects. Their common ambition is driven for excellence for the greater good, and this never ending progression in the pursuit of excellence has made this a valuable partnership.
Jonathan is a Certified National Safe Boating Council Instructor.
